A new generation of multi-channel embedded wireless data transmission modules is the HC-12 wireless RF UART communication module. There are a total of 100 channels that can be set on the radio frequency between 433.4 and 473.0 MHz for communication. With a maximum transmit power of 100 mW (20 dBm) and a receiver sensitivity of -116 dBm at a baud rate of 5000 bits, the module can communicate across a distance of around 500 metres.
The module uses a weldable stamped hole encapsulation technique. The module is easy for the client to insert in the application system since it is 27.4 mm by 13.2 mm by 4 mm in size (including the antenna seat but excluding the spring antenna). The module contains a coaxial cable and ANT1 PCB antenna seat, which customers can use with an external antenna operating in the 433 MHz band.
The module also contains a handy user-welded spring antenna through which an antenna can be attached. Depending on the request, the user can select a particular type of antenna. Users only need to send and receive UART data because the module includes an MCU; additional programming is not required. The module employs a number of UART transmission modes, from which the user may select in accordance with the demands of the AT command. The average operating current for the four UART modes of FU1, FU2, FU3, and FU4 is 3.6 mA, 80 mA, 16 mA, and 16 mA, and the highest operational current is 100 mA (full power transmit state). The SiLabs SI4463 EZRadioPro family chip is the foundation of the HC12 module. In the open air, this module provides a wireless data transmission and reception range of roughly 1 kilometre. It is a very user-friendly, low-power radio chip.
In order for the user to communicate with the HC12 module, this module features an onboard STM8S003F3P6 MCU that is in communication with the SI4463 (RX, TX, and GND).
